Think of this as a dumping ground for bird photos I have not decided how to sort yet.

cunderwood > Nuthatch Taken outside the back door the other night. It was up in a pine tree feasting on the seeds.
cunderwood > Some kind of Blackbird. Now normally, I don't get them lit like this. This would have been a golden opportunity for the Better Beamer I have not bought yet to be used :)
cunderwood > Nuthatch. I met a couple of other photographers who brought seeds for the birds. I tagged along for a bit - I could not tell if that was welcomed or not ;p - but I was able to get a few good bird photos done anyhow.

cunderwood > Junko in the winter.
cunderwood > One angry red winged black bird. A cooper's hawk is in the area and is picking off the black birds. This one has taken to dive bombing us as we round the edge of the building. It will get within about 1m of the top of our heads.
cunderwood > Red Winged Black Bird and lily pads. It was walking around on the lilies (in bloom all over the place) looking for bugs.
cunderwood > Not a flawless one, but I am experimenting with a new way of prefocusing on the smaller birds to get them in flight. What I do is focus on them on the branch or whatever, and hold the shutter down half way and wait. Ideally, I should have it on continuous focus with all points active (I believe I forgot that this time). The split second they leap into flight, squeeze the shutter the rest of the way. This is the result. Sadly, the light was starting to fade on me.
cunderwood > A little red winged blackbird for you. I went for a walk tonight after supper. It was a gorgeous evening.
cunderwood > Purple Martin in its house. This bird is in Bayfield Ontario on Lake Huron. I have not seen them near where we live, but since we were at the beach today, and happened upon them, I took some time to "snipe" at them until I got what I wanted. We had perfect weather and lighting for this.
cunderwood > Purple Martin in flight. This one had just lept from its house and was keeping an eye on me as it flew away. This bird is in Bayfield Ontario on Lake Huron.
